The German Research Foundation approves funding of a new special research field on the development of quantum sensors to be initiated on July 1st, 2016.

The German Research Foundation (DFG) approves all proposals of the University of Bremen for research training groups, among them "Models of Gravity" headed by ZARM at the University of Bremen and the University of Oldenburg.

DLR and ZARM offer students the chance to create their own experiments to be carried out in the Drop Tower Bremen. On May 19, 2016, these set-ups will be tested in a 10-meter fall in the "Space Tower" of the DLR_School_Lab.

On May 2, 2016, the MICROSCOPE project reached a major milestone when the experiment was activated and started transmitting the first data.

On Friday, 29 April 2016, the outstanding scientific work of four young scientists will be awarded by the non-profit association "Friends of ZARM".
