REXUS/BEXUS

Rocket/Balloon-borne EXperiments for University Students

The REXUS/BEXUS programme allows students from universities and higher education colleges across Europe to carry out scientific and technological experiments on research rockets and balloons. Each year, two rockets and two balloons are launched, carrying up to 20 experiments designed and built by student teams.

The programme is realised under a bilateral Agency Agreement between the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the Swedish National Space Board (SNSB). Through a collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA), the Swedish share has been made available to students from all ESA Member and Cooperating States.

On behalf of DLR Space Administration, the Center of Applied Space Technology and Microgravity (ZARM) is carrying out the German project share. The experiment campaigns and the student support are conducted in close cooperation between DLR-MORABA (Mobile Rocket Base), the Swedish SSC, ZARM and ESA.

On behalf of DLR the german REXUS/BEXUS project share is carried out by ZARM: Simon Mawn, Torsten Lutz, Dieter Bischoff
