Congratulations to Professor Eva Hackmann

| News

Eva Hackmann receives title of professor acknoledging her outstanding scientific achievements and her continued dedication to research and teaching.

For many years, Eva Hackmann has been shaping theoretical research at the Center of Applied Space Technology and Microgravity (ZARM) at the University of Bremen: she has been affiliated with ZARM since 2006 (with interruptions) and has led her own research group since 2014. At the beginning of this year, she was also appointed to the Executive Board of the Cluster of Excellence QuantumFrontiers, led by Leibniz University Hannover.

Her research covers relativistic astrophysics, particularly black holes, as well as geodesy, or the measurement of Earth's gravitational field and its changes due to processes such as climate change. Her research group also studies quantum objects in gravitational fields. With her research group at ZARM, she has gained international recognition and significantly contributes to fundamental research excellence in Bremen.

The awarding of the title of professor now further acknowledges her outstanding scientific achievements and her continued dedication to research and teaching.

Marc Avila, Co-director of ZARM, is delighted about this recognition: "Eva is an exceptionally talented theoretical physicist with impressive analytical work in general relativity, including its application to high-precision clocks and satellite navigation. Her group at ZARM is internationally recognized and the recently awarded Professor title a very well-deserved honor."

Congratulations on this important milestone, Eva!
